With summer gone and passed, it is yet again the time of the year where we are graced by a mesmerizing full moon night during the Mid-Autumn Festival. To celebrate this charming festival, Lai Bun Fu presents traditional banquets of authentic Chinese fine dining to make this Mid-Autumn festival a culinary blessing to be shared with family and friends.

Offering an authentic 9-course feast with his own signature favorites, former Hong Kong Government House Head Chef Chung Kin Leung has designed the festive banquet for families to come together and share a happy moment together in our busy modern city lives.

Starting with tantalizing appetizers including Steamed Crab Claw with Chinese Wine and Pan-Fried Minced Pork & lotus Root Cakes with a touch of earthy truffle seasoning, the menu pampers your taste buds with flourishing flavors for the scrumptious dishes to follow.

In Chinese culture, the perfect dinner includes a soup course. For the Mid-Autumn Festival Menu, the Double Boiled Chicken & Eel Soup with Preserved Vegetables is the perfect soup course for the 9-course meal. A delectable balance in flavor, the soup keeps your taste buds upbeat and ready for the following course, the Baked Squid Stuffed with Glutinous Rice.

For the final savory touch, the Braised Sea Cucumber Stuffed with Prawn Mousse is a decadent introduction to two Lai Bun Fu all-time favorites, Sifu’s Crispy Chicken with 5-flavored Condiments and Lai Bun Fu Special Fried Rice with Lobster and Abalone, drizzled with scallop truffle oil.

To end on a sweet note, the Double-Boiled Snow Fungus and Lotus Seed leave diners with a light finish to the abundant feast.

Of course, Mid-Autumn Festival is not complete without mooncakes. This year, Chef Chung is also crafting festive mooncakes for the season, flavored with healthy green tea from one of Japan’s oldest and most distinguished plantations, Morihan, with a history dating back 170 years Uji City, on the outskirts of Kyoto, the traditional birth place of Japanese tea.
