With their Spring Summer 17 collection, Bottega Veneta celbrates their 50th anniversary. “This collection marks the 50th anniversary of Bottega Veneta. I wanted to celebrate by staying true to the brand, to the ideas of private luxury that are all about the experience of whoever owns our clothes, bags, shoes, jewelry, everything.” Tomas Maier, Creative Director.

Simplicity created from exceptional craft and materials, the collection features a selection of jackets, shirts, pants and skirts mix and matched to create long silhouettes with an occasional twist of polo shirts. Contrasting materials such as supple leather with super-fine cotton and linen with metal, each look on the runway charms audiences with a paradoxical mystique that showcases the brands magnificent craftsmanship. The distinctive Bottega Veneta butterfly is revealed in a purposfully blurred print as decoration to dresses, skirts and jackets in this collection as a resemblance of the rich overlapping history of the brand.

“For me, it is always about simple and easy things that are special for those people who appreciate them. The hard work in their creation is invisible to the eye, the result a pleasure to wear.”

Alongside 15 new bag styles presented in the show, The Spring Summer 2017 show takes audiences down a trip through the colorful history of Bottega Veneta.

“Bottega Veneta is about the craftspeople. They are the ones with the knowledge, and they are at the heart of the brand. This collection reveals their work at its absolute best.”
