This year, the Nike SC x Air Jordan partnership returns with 3 unique looks created in collaboration with the 2 icons of the industry who both have a hand in shoe adaptations, Craig Stecyk and Lance Mountain. Originally designed to suit the needs for budding star Michael Jordan, the Air Jordan I indirectly took innovation to skates. To celebrate this unexpected answer to the needs of skaters, Nike SB  and Jordan Brand work together to release the Nike SB x Air Jordan I.

Using his signature tribal visual identity on the design, multimedia artist Craig Stecyk, styled these kicks taking cues from his own art installationthat prominently features bronze casting and spray paint.the green and black upper features of the text “AJ One SB” in a typeface designed by Stecyk which was originally featured in a leading skateboard magazine in 1982.

Skaters has always been perceived as the rebel type by general public, and they have taken this view with pride. When Jordan wore the Air Jordan during a game, a fine was imposed for breaking the uniform regulation. Since then, the rebel image has been burnt into the shoes which fits its current rebellious style.

Decades in the making, the Nike SB x Air Jordan I designed by Craig Stecyk will be available in Nike Skateboarding Mong Kok Shop and Jordan Store beginning March 15.
