Afternoon teas have started to become a definitive Hong Kong afternoon treat, a quick escape from our busy daily routines to just have sometime to remind us there’s more to life than work. This April Lion Rock of Royal Plaza Hotel has announced their latest collaboration with Tse Sai Pei, a popular local illustrator.  A fascinating combination of the western high-tea mixed with illustrations filled with local elements ties in perfectly with Royal Plaza Hotel which is situated in Mong Kok district, one of Hong Kong’s most definitive districts.

 

Taking the carefree essence of Tse Sai Pei’s work, the chefs at Royal Plaza Hotel created an unconventional brand of afternoon tea, the “Twist & Treat High Tea” breaks away from the traditions of afternoon tea. The mini treats are served on a 3-tier stand, diners can at any time pick out the treats they want and enjoy a nice afternoon break without rules.

 

The afternoon tea set has several signature dishes like the Orange Chutney and Smoked Duck Breast on Celery, Smoked Salmon and Cheese Rye Bread Roll, Buttered Pork and Black Truffle Mille Feuille, Shrimp and Water Chestnut Filo Pastry Parcel and Raisin Scone. Each and every one of these delicate bites is hand-crafted into all sorts of shapes to brighten up your day!

A special Tse Sai Pei Cupcake is also available for diners to enjoy! These glamorous fellows are beautifully decorated with a silky smooth strawberry cream topping and garnished small pearls which highlight a white chocolate tab with illustrations by Tse Sai Pei!
