Joyce enlists students to create a brighter fashion future with the UpCycle Project

unnamed (1)As a fashion pioneer, Joyce, which has been bringing the best of global fashion to Asian customers in the past 40 years, is glad to present their “Upcycle Project” as part of the initiatives in 2014 that focus on public issues such as sustainable development and social responsibility. Through design projects, funding and public events, Joyce is aimed at supporting local creative community while highlighting young visionaries in the design world.

Collaborating with Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Joyce hopes to inspire and nurture students’ design creativiy and cultivate potential young designers in Hong Kong, thus developing local fashion markets. Not only can student enjoy the fruitful achievement and share it with others, but the public can appreciate their upcycle works.

unnamed (3)The whole project is made up of 100 carefully selected students from Institute of Textiles & Clothing of PolyU, who were tasked with designing a complete look using past seasonal merchandise from Joyce. Each student submitted a proposal detailing their methods of deconstruction and transformation, of which best work will be selected in mid May to be presented with internationally fashion brands at Joyce Central store.
