From now until November 22nd this year, Artify Gallery will be presenting the solo exhibition, “Suspending Worlds”, by local artist Kwong Wing Kwan. The exhibition has a heavy element of astronomy which is used to show the paradoxes of human existence.

Separated into 2 parts, the exhibition challenges the line between the controllable and the uncontrollable, both expressed in stunning visuals. Following her solo exhibition last year, Kwong continues to explore human reactions towards the mysteries of fate. Using the solar system’s gravitational relationship, Kwong reflects on the human struggle with fate. Kwong’s fascination with black holes is reflected into some of her works in the exhibition, for example the “Black hole not black enough”, shows the gives off a sinister impression which can be seen as the raw, destructive power of the black hole, yet after knowing that black holes doesn’t destroy anything that enters, but simply moves them someplace else, the sense of disappointment inspired the name of the piece.

The exhibition includes several installation pieces, the most significant one being the “Leading Satellite”, a spinning installation which recreates the paradox of motion vs. stillness.
